Review of Unity iOS Essentials by Robert Wiebe

iOs Platform for Unity 3D
I like this book from the outset because of the structure it was designed with. From the first pages after dealing with the basic description of how the book was being presented, Robert steps right into what was needed for developing in the iOS environment. Then he shifts into game development mode. Whether you are new to game development and/or iOS this is an excellent book in providing you the structure you need to develop games for the iOS platform. If you are a game developer new to iOS, Robert, keeps you in familiar territory while giving you the essentials for developing for the iOs platform.
The structure of the book builds as you work through the game development process setting down the foundation in the beginning chapters upon which to build as you move through the book. He covers the options available and provides solid information for making design and programming decisions as you move through the development process.
As I worked through the book an irony came upon me, that as a developer I could substitute app for game in a lot of instances and come away with a unique view of Unity as I was developing a project. I have always looked at Unity 3D as an excellent Game development engine, and for me that will be its primary purpose, but if I was oriented towards creating apps, Unity would be an engine for consideration.
I found an occasional typo, as one does with all technical work, but it was not not distracting and over all I found the technical information sound and useful. I am new to the iOS platform, and my current project is not geared towards the iOS platform at this time, but when designing games in the future I have an excellent reference that I will be able to fall back upon to adjust my planning with and that will expand my future market arena.
I can honestly recommend this book for those interested in developing for iOS platform, and those who wish to expand their knowledge of developing in Unity 3D.
